Kundalini Yoga & Preparing for Postpartum

Pre and Postnatal Yoga- experience a more comfortable pregnancy and a quicker recovery. Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, you can enjoy the benefits of yoga while pregnant and post delivery. The program, conducted in a calm and peaceful environment will help prepare expectant mothers for the trans-formative birth and motherhood experience. This 90 minute class is a combination of yoga, meditation and educational components.

Om Mommy Prenatal Yoga

Create the pregnancy you desire…. Allow yourself to adapt gracefully to each phase of this momentous time in your life… This class will help you to find balance within all of the change occurs during this joyful time. Feel a proud sense of appreciation for your body. This sequence of postures is specifically designed to increase flexibility, strength, circulation and balance while minimizing common pregnancy symptoms such as excessive weight gain and back pain. Find release from the stiff muscles in your neck, back, shoulders and legs. The yoga techniques explored in this class allow participants to nurture and open their bodies throughout every stage of pregnancy. A regular practice will also will help in ensuring easier labor, a smooth delivery, and a faster recovery. Come explore age old breathing techniques, asanas (postures), and mantras as we prepare mentally, physically and spiritually for a conscious awareness of childbirth and motherhood.

Mom & Baby Yoga

Enter our comfortable, supportive environment where moms can meet other women, enjoy special times with their babies, and experience the benefits of yoga without worrying about having their babies “bother” others. These classes have their own special rhythm: moms and babies bond (and bend), do a bit of massage and exercises for the baby, moms check in with each other and support each other, there is some breathing and toning, yoga for the moms, yoga for moms and babies together, an adorable rhythmic yet calming dance for moms with babies in arms, and a lullaby at the end to help calm the babies for their trip home. Bring a blanket for your baby and wear loose, comfortable clothes. No prior yoga experience necessary. Newborns and their moms are welcome and may participate at any level that they feel comfortable. (*please arrive 10 minutes before class time)

Dancing For Birth TM

Dancing For Birth prenatal/postpartum dance classes incorporate dance moves from around the world that best prepare you to give birth. Birth can be like a marathon, and Dancing for Birth classes prepare you for the challenge. You’ll become stronger, more agile, more at ease with your body and both mentally and physically ready to embrace your unique birth experience. Weekly classes are offered to keep you dancing thru pregnancy, and postpartum with your baby. Dancing for Birth prenatal/postpartum dance class participants report experiencing low levels of discomfort, few or no interventions, brief labors and high levels of satisfaction during their births. You’ll learn birth dancing moves inspired by Belly dance, African dance, Ballet, Latin dance and Interpretive movement. At the same time you’ll be learning valuable childbirth preparation skills and natural pain coping techniques that will build your confidence in your own birthing ability and wisdom. Birth can be active, ecstatic, orgasmic, transformative, empowering! Did you know that there is an optimal position for your baby to be in when labor begins, and you can help assure that position? You’ll gain knowledge to help you have the birth that you envision for your baby. Babies whose moms take Dancing for Birth prenatal/postpartum dance classes love the motion of dancing and are easily soothed after birth by being held while you dance. You’ll regain your pre-pregnancy shape and tone more quickly when you continue Dancing for Birth classes with your baby after he or she is born.

Om Baby Family Yoga (for moms and/or dads)

Mommies bring your babies. You can even bring their daddies, or if you need a morning off send the kids with dad. Come one come all! Enter our comfortable, supportive environment where you can meet other like minded parents, enjoy special times with their babies, and experience the benefits of yoga without worrying about having their babies “bother” others. **Please note: Amazing Births is excited to offer this opportunity for both parents to experience the joy of sharing yoga with their babies.

Belly Dancing

This class will explore the power of movement through Tribal Fusion Belly Dance ( Belly dancing is an ancient art, it is said that all dance forms derive from it.) The benefits of this type of connection with movement are: – to develop body awareness – to renew your energy cycles – to discover the language of your own body – to nourish the Sacred within you – to discover the language of your own body Belly dancing, pregnancy and childbirth are in harmony. Through this type of dance, the pregnant woman arrives at the necessary mobility and strengthening of the pelvis, while developing the required awareness of the muscles used in the birth process. Breastfeeding 101

This hands-on class is intended for pregnant women who are first time moms or moms who have not breastfed for a while. Practical and interactive, we’ll discuss how to overcome some of the challenges of breastfeeding faced by many women during the first weeks of motherhood. In addition to learning how to enhance breast milk production, you’ll practice optimal baby positioning as well as relaxing postures to maintain comfort during breastfeeding. ~

Infant Massage Series

Learn how to soothe your baby with infant massage. Massage can relax infants, calm colicky babies, help infants sleep longer and encourage bonding between parents and baby. We welcome 2 adults per baby…that means two more hands to “practice” on the little angel! (series of 3 classes) ~

Natural Care for Newborn

Natural Care of Your Newborn, For parents-to-be, this informative class offers valuable tips and remedies to provide relief of typical health issues your baby may experience from the first hours of life through the first few weeks after birth. Informal and wellness focused, we will discuss the primary concerns of parents including feeding times, diapers and diaper rashes, screening tests and vaccinations, circumcision, digestive variations and how to prevent colic.

Immunization Lecture featured class

Explore the risks and benefits of the vaccines your doctor is recommending for your child. Learn about how the immune system develops from birth and how vaccinations affect your child’s ability to fight off disease. Identify risk factors unique to your child and how you can best support your child’s health naturally with homeopathy, herbs and nutrition.
